Xavier Worthy's car was stolen from his apartment in Kansas City earlier this week, according to reports.
Worthy, who was selected by the Chiefs in the first round of last month's NFL Draft, would have been expecting a warmer welcome just over two weeks since he joined the back-to-back Super Bowl champions.
Yet according to the Kansas City Police Department, via TMZ Sports, the 21-year-old wide receiver saw his car stolen from the Two Light Apartment complex on Monday morning, having left it 'parked, secured and intact' hours earlier.
Pro Football Talk first reported on Thursday that those close to Worthy are convinced it was taken by 'a professional group of criminals who "knew exactly what they were doing."'
No one was injured as a result of the incident, nevertheless, while no arrests have so far been made.

The 21-year-old recorded the fastest-ever 40-yard dash time at the combine earlier this year
Worthy, who recorded the fastest-ever 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine earlier this year, was selected with the 28th overall pick by the Chiefs at the Draft in April.
It is the latest setback Kansas City has been dealt in the offseason, following on from Rashee Rice's multiple run-ins with the law in recent months.
Harrison Butker also sparked controversy over the weekend by criticizing women and taking aim at the LGBTQ+ community in a speech at Benedictine College.
Worthy took the practice field for the first time alongside other rookies and roster hopefuls at the start of the month.
And the session got off to a rough start for the speedster as video captured a ball going right through his hands.
The clip led several fans to joke that Worthy would 'fit right in' in Kansas City, where the Chiefs' receiving corps was extremely drop-happy last season.
The eventual Super Bowl champions led the NFL with 44 drops last regular season.
Worthy landed in Kansas City after impressing at Texas collegiately, finishing his junior season with 1,014 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
